The purpose of the Security Enhancer is to give you the feeling of security and eliminate unproductive anxiety. It is human nature to want to feel secure and protected. Human beings are one of the few mammals born totally helpless and dependent upon the adult caregiver. Naturally, as adults, it is instinctual to want to take care of a newborn. Infants depend upon the care of other human beings and are secure that their needs will be met.

We realize, sometimes painfully, we must depend more and more upon ourselves as we get older. Sometimes through experiences we encounter in life and the way we interpret them, we feel less and less secure that things will work out in our favor. We generate doubt and insecurity. In extreme cases, this can lead to poverty. It doesn't necessarily mean monetary poverty, either. It can also be spiritual or intellectual poverty. Often times we believe erroneously that we can stockpile a feeling of security with money alone or material possessions.

However, we sometimes see those who have very few possessions and yet, seem extremely secure that they will be able to handle any crisis or problem that comes their way. They feel very secure and do not seem to be surrounded by chaos. What is their secret? They recognize that life is constantly changing. They have learned to view new experiences as exciting opportunities and know how to take positive action.

You can enhance your security by using the following steps:

1) Act positively, but act!

You can feel more secure by acting positively. As long as you are moving forward in a positive direction, you needn't feel poverty of any sort. It is only when you give up that security begins to wane. Keep moving towards an outcome!

2) Realize that human beings also require variety.

Without new experiences, human beings would enter a period of sloth and decay. In fact, the human body receives constant stimulus from gravity or we would turn to jelly. Embrace the variety in each day.

3) Learn to view uncertainty as opportunity.

New experiences can seem frightening, if they threaten our security. But, uncertainty can provide us with opportunities and open our minds to new ideas, if we are only willing to take the risk.
